The Heart behind the Brand

Hi, I’m Maddie, a yoga and meditation teacher with a passion for helping others discover theirs. For most of my life, I was stuck in a never ending cycle of feeling that no matter what I accomplished or who I became, it would never be good enough. I focused on perfection to the point where I became invisible, not daring to be seen if there was a chance I could make a mistake. I believed that other’s opinions of me were truth, and I lost touch of who I really was inside.

Multiple times, I questioned the meaning of it all. Did I have a purpose? What is it that I was put here to do? Do I even have a choice in the matter? One day, I sat pondering those very questions, when I realized something: my whole life, I blamed everyone and everything else for the situation I was in. I was a victim to my circumstances. Powerless. But what would happen if I decided I wanted to take back my power? What would happen if I decided that today, I would take accountability for my life, that I would choose how I wanted to experience the world. That day, almost 7 years ago, I resolved that I would not give up, nor would I live just to survive. I promised myself I would do whatever it took to find my purpose, to find happiness and fulfillment.

Along the line, I learned that the life society teaches us to want, the life I tried so hard to fit in to, just wasn’t for me. No trend, lifestyle, or path I tried ever felt right. Eventually, I realized that in trying to create the illusion that I fit perfectly into that world, I was silencing my real voice. I was using the opinions of other’s as the bars to my own cage. I was trying to cram myself into a box when what I needed was freedom, not confinement. I needed the space to be myself and create the life that was right for me.

That realization changed everything. I started doing the deeper inner work, rebuilding my life slowly, through trial and error, and most importantly, from a place of truth, not judgement. I stopped living out of fear and started living from my heart. I created The Authenticity Plan to help others do the same, as well as share what I learned along the way and all the tools that helped me. I hope you find as much value in this journey as I did. 🤍

Mission

The mission of The Authenticity Plan is to help you heal from the inside out, encouraging a slower, more intentional way of living. A lifestyle fueled by your authenticity, not society’s expectations.

In a world that celebrates hustle and perfection, this space offers something different: a gentle path back to yourself. It offers permission to want a life that aligns with your values —  and gives tools to work towards it. Through blog posts and mindful reflections designed to foster self-discovery and healing, The Authenticity Plan’s goal is to give you everything you need to redefine success on your own terms and create a life that feels aligned and true to you.

Values

  • Authenticity – the world needs who you were born to be. If you’re trying to be someone else, who’s fulfilling your purpose?
  • Simplicity – most things in life are simple, it’s our minds that complicate things. When you slow down and turn inwards, you gain clarity.
  • Connection – humans thrive on connection with others and with ourselves. Here, you are not alone.
  • Wellness – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. They all work together. And the more you heal those aspects of yourself, the better your life becomes.

Philosophy

If the life you want feels like the opposite of what everyone is telling you to do, keep going! You’re probably on the right path.

My whole life I’ve done things differently from everyone else, and I used to see that as a flaw. I finally realized that “flaw” wasn’t a flaw at all, but my greatest strength. Being “different” was actually me being authentic.

If you’ve ever been told you’re too sensitive, too intense, or just too much, you’re not alone. The parts of you that felt out of place or hard to explain aren’t flaws; they’re clues. They’re signs that you’re still in touch with something real.

Here, we don’t believe in fitting into boxes that were never meant for us. We believe in slowing down, loving yourself, and living intentionally. Because when you start living from a place of truth, things begin to shift. Life feels lighter. Clearer. More like yours.
